Over and over again, our Heavenly Father wants His people to know Him, believe in Him, and love Him. All day long, He goes out of His way to show us that He is the Only True Living God who loves us. God wants us to see and know that He is LORD. He constantly reminds us, through the world He created, that He is God and Creator.
Our Creator designed this world just for us and just knowing that should be all the evidence we need to know He exists. But for some reason, it’s not. Look around. Really take notice of all that God has made for our enjoyment and for our benefit. Look at the moon, the sun, the stars, the clouds above. Look at the sky that pours out rain from heaven. Look at the trees, beautiful flowers, and the ocean.
All of these things were made for us. Shouldn’t that be all the reason we need to know that He is LORD, GOD ALMIGHTY? Why do we need more proof?
“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
(Ps. 8:3-5, NKJV)
Take a look in the mirror. Look at our children. Look at our lives. They are all proof that God is, indeed, LORD. They are proof that God exists and proof that we are His work of art. We’re God’s design! Sadly, some of us, His creation, His people still ask the same questions.
Does God really exist?
Why am I here and why was I created?
Is there someone who is BIG enough to orchestrate this entire universe?
Yet, He’s concerned about little ol’ me?
God, if you really exist, where are you?
YES! We have an eternal God who does exist! Yes, we were designed by our magnificent Father and created for His purpose and glory! The Creator of everything is concerned about little ol’ you and me! He loves us greatly! Our amazing and holy God is constantly thinking about us. He sees us. We’re on His mind all day long! Isn’t that outstanding?
All He asks from us is that we love Him and praise Him (Ps. 150:6).
“ Jesus said to him,‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.’” (Matt. 22:37, NKJV)
Just knowing that the Creator of the universe loves us should be all the reason we need to love Him back. It is a privilege to praise Him and thank Him all day long!
My sister, God wants His people to know Him, believe in Him, and love Him. So here’s a biblical principle to help us over the hump:
“Be still, and know that I am God…”
(Ps. 46:10a, NKJV)
