Special shout out to this week’s new Freedom Walkers! Thanks for joining us on this journey. And God’s blessings be upon all Freedom Walkers who are committed to Christ!
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting The African American Library located in the historic Freeman’s Town at the Gregory School, in Houston Texas. I accidentally found out about this amazing place while surfing the web. Shocked that I knew anything about this library that’s rich with history – I wanted to know more. Thus propelled my visit. My family and I strolled down the halls of this fascinating library, being careful to see each exhibit and read every detailed journey of Houston’s African American Fourth Ward community.
Their fortitude and commitment to leave a legacy inspire me to do the same. I’m determined to leave an inheritance for my children. I’m motivated to be persistent in accomplishing my dreams that will in turn inspire others to pursuit hard after their dreams and achieve them. I am encouraged to remain steadfast to the cause, to the task at hand.
It is my prayer that today’s Walking in Freedom! Devotional will inspire you to walk in freedom!
Your sis, Rhovonda
P.S. If you’re in the Houston area, I encourage you and your family to visit this place of history and be encouraged to get up and pursue your dreams. Click here to learn more.

Just Do It!

“After proclaiming the Message in Derbe and establishing a strong core of disciples, they retraced their steps to Lystra, then Iconium, and then Antioch, putting muscle and sinew in the lives of the disciples, urging them to stick with what they had begun to believe and not quit, making it clear to them that it wouldn’t be easy:” (Acts 14:21-22, MSG)
God gives each one of us a task to do and for some reason we think this task should be easy. But why would it be easy? Why would something that God has given us to do be easy, when the evil one does not want God’s plan to be fulfill. The evil one has been busy since day one, which is why the earth being dark, empty, and without void (Gen. 1:2). Satan has been on a mission and his very goal is to stop God’s work from getting accomplished. So when God gives us a job to do it will be challenging. It’s going to get tough, but do not quit! We cannot stop doing what God has told us to do.
Isn’t it wonderful when you know what your purpose is in this life? It’s an amazing feeling! You feel so free when you know exactly why God has placed you on this earth. That’s the freedom we feel when we are doing what God has called us to do, when we’re on the path of our purpose. That’s the victory we have when we are walking in God’s divine will!
Therefore, my sisters, if God has told you to do something, do it. If God has given you your orders, has given you your papers to go, then go do it. Just do it!! Understand, it will be extremely difficult at times. It must have been difficult for Abraham to walk with his son up the mountain to be sacrificed (Gen. 22). It took much faith. I know it was difficult for Moses to face Pharaoh (Ex. 5). It took courage. The work God has called us to do will require much faith and great courage. Keep in mind, once we have accepted God’s plan and purpose for our lives, the devil (Oh yes, he is the deceiver!) will do whatever he can to stop God’s plan from being accomplished. But my sisters, we cannot let him!! No matter the difficulty, don’t be deterred. Trust God and just do it!
It’s Wednesday – Hump Day! Here’s our biblical principle to help us over the hump:
“Anyone signing up for the kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times.” (Acts 14:22, MSG)
LET’S PRAY: Father, we thank You for the call You have given us. We thank You for believing in us and trusting us with Your assignment. We ask that You would cover our thoughts. We ask that You would keep our thoughts pure. God, keep our mind on You and give us Your peace for the journey. With Your mighty power and strength, give us Your courage to do what You have called us to do. Father, we thank You for encouraging us to not quit. And so we won’t! May Your Holy Word and fresh anointing give us exactly what we need to accomplish the task at hand. We pray this pray in Your Son’s name. Amen
During your quiet time MEDITATE on today’s scriptures. Be motivated by today’s VIDEO. Allow all these things to encourage you to walk in freedom!
